Re-add Missing Windows 10 Apps to the Start Menu

I had a strange incident the other day when my windows 10 start menu dropped all the windows 10 apps.
I eventually tracked down the solution which I admit is a bit cumbersome.
To re-add them I had to open an administrative powershell window and run the following

Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”)}

Then I had to reboot the computer.
This added the missing apps although it did reinstall some junk apps which I subsequently deleted.

I hope this will help you out if you suffer this problem.
Please let me know if this doesn’t solve the problem and I will update the post accordingly.
