Remove white background in word tables.

I’ve had an annoying occurrence when creating a word table with a formatted table header row. The text shows with a white background whilst the rest of the row has a colour background. To solve the problem I found I had to do the following.

  • Select the text I needed to remove the white background from.
  • Click on Design from the word toolbar.
  • Click on Page Borders on the ribbon.
  • Click on the shading tab
  • Select Text from the apply to: drop down list.
  • Click on fill drop down.
  • Click on no color

Now the white background should be removed. If not then try selecting a different colour then no color again.
